The Alu-Cab Gen 3-R is a premium expedition roof top tent designed for serious travel, combining rapid setup, rugged construction and modern comfort.

Built with a lightweight aluminium frame and streamlined hard-shell design, the Gen 3-R offers excellent aerodynamics while providing useful roof storage for equipment such as solar panels and kayaks. The insulated interior, 70mm high-density foam mattress and integrated ventilation help create a comfortable sleeping environment in all seasons.

The latest Gen 3-R also includes a heater vent as standard, making it particularly suited to colder climates, along with an integrated roof solar panel input.

The gas-strut-assisted opening system allows quick deployment, while the internal USB/USB-C charging points and LED lighting add everyday convenience.

Roof Cargo Load

The integrated roof cargo rails have a 50kg load rating.

Where the weight is positioned affects how easily the tent opens. Heavier items should be positioned towards the front of the tent, while lighter items such as solar panels are better positioned towards the rear.

Please note: Optional accessories such as the Drop Down Table and Reclining Bed Back Rest are not included and are available separately.

Installation

The Gen 3-R should be mounted onto 2 × 1450mm long roof bars, such as suitable Front Runner or Alu-Cab roof bars.

The supplied mounting kit includes 4 mounting brackets and fixings.

Important Information

The 50kg roof cargo rating applies to the cargo rails, but the positioning of the load is important. Heavy items should be kept towards the front of the tent to make opening easier. Lighter items, such as solar panels, should be positioned towards the rear.

Optional accessories including the Drop Down Table and Reclining Bed Back Rest are not included.
