The TUFFTREK® Sahara-X is a premium hybrid hard shell roof tent that combines the quick setup of a hard shell with the spacious comfort of a soft top. Designed for touring, overlanding and weekend adventures, it opens in around 30 seconds thanks to its innovative X-Hinge design, creating impressive headroom without trapping or snagging the canvas.
Constructed around a strong aluminium frame with a durable ABS hard shell, the Sahara-X is built to handle the demands of year-round travel. Its premium 320gsm blackout ripstop canvas helps reduce early morning light, improves insulation and provides excellent protection from the elements, making it equally at home on a weekend camping trip or a longer overland expedition.
Inside you'll find a generous 152 × 218cm sleeping area for two adults with room for a child if required, a supportive 50mm memory foam mattress, integrated dimmable LED lighting and our signature SkyWindow, allowing you to enjoy the stars at night while bringing natural light into the tent during the day. An additional side window improves ventilation and airflow for warmer climates.
Every Sahara-X includes practical features designed to make life on the road easier, including a diesel heater port, internal storage pockets, boot bags, a sheltered entrance canopy, black telescopic ladder and a universal fitting kit. Optional roof load bars allow you to carry bikes, recovery boards or lightweight gear on top, while the matching annex room and awning provide additional living space when you're staying longer in one place.

Installation:
Sahara-X can be mounted on 2 or 3 suitable roof bars (ensure bars have minimum 100kg dynamic load rating)

Yes the Sahara-X roof tent is easy for 1x person to open and close
Can it stay on permanently?
Yes the Sahara-X roof tent can stay on all year round - just open and close it regularly to allow it to breathe and check for condensation
Does it fit my vehicle?
Sahara-X roof tent weighs approx 79kg - so long as your vehicle has a high enough roof load rating (static and dynamic 80kg plus) and has suitable load bars it should fit
Can I use it in winter?
The Sahara-X has been used around Nordkap in winter, working in -18c with no problems reported! The air heater port makes this tent ideal for winter adventures!
