Can You Put a Roof Tent on a Ford Ranger?
Yes. A Ford Ranger can be an excellent roof tent vehicle when fitted with a suitable, correctly rated mounting system.
There are three main options:

For many Ranger owners building a dedicated camping vehicle, we prefer a load-bearing canopy. It provides a strong platform for the tent while creating secure, useful storage underneath.
Important: We don't recommend door-frame clamp-style roof bars for carrying a roof tent on a Ford Ranger.

Which Roof Tent Is Best for a Ford Ranger?

Ford Ranger specifications vary by model, generation and year, so don't assume every tent, roof rack or canopy will fit every Ranger. Canopies for the T6 version don't fit the new 2023 on P703 models!
