The main tent body is genuine 320g ripstop polycotton canvas with a 3000mm hydrostatic head rating. That's a fabric built to take UK weather and hold its shape season after season — not a thin shell that sags by year two.

A flysheet built for storms, not showrooms

The flysheet is 420D fire-retardant, UV-protected polyester. The optional lower annex steps that up further, with a 5000mm hydrostatic head rating — genuinely weatherproof, not just water-resistant on the box.

Seams that don't leak three trips in

Every seam is double stitched and silicone seam taped. It's a slower, more expensive way to build a tent — and it's the only way to stop water finding its way in when the rain doesn't let up for a weekend.

Add the optional full-height annex and you get a sealed lower room with a heavy-duty, removable PVC groundsheet — ideal for changing, cooking, extra storage, or giving kids and pets their own space. It zips directly to the tent and unzips for easy cleaning.

Defenders, Jeeps, Rangers, vans, SUVs — if it has a set of suitable roof bars running left to right with a minimum 75kg dynamic load rating, it'll take a PRO-Ruggedised. No roof rack required, and flush-fit bars aren't recommended.

Will the PRO-Ruggedised fit my vehicle?+
In most cases, yes. It fits most cars, SUVs, vans, and 4×4s with suitable roof bars or a roof rack. A minimum 75kg dynamic load rating is recommended.
Do I need a roof rack?+
No. High-quality roof bars running left-to-right are sufficient. Flush-fit bars are not recommended.
How many people does each size sleep?+
The 1.4m comfortably sleeps 2 adults. The 1.6m and 1.8m XL give you extra room to stretch out as a couple, and the 2.2m XXL is built for small families who need genuine space.
Is it suitable for year-round use?+
Yes. The PRO-Ruggedised is designed for four-season camping, with breathable polycotton canvas and excellent ventilation. A thermal liner can be added for colder conditions.
What is the annex used for?+
The annex creates an enclosed space below the tent, ideal for changing, gear storage, children, or pets.
Is the annex weatherproof?+
Yes. When correctly fitted, pegged out, and mounted at the right height (170–195cm), the annex provides reliable protection from rain, wind, and sun.
Can I use the tent without the annex?+
Yes. The annex is entirely optional and can be added or removed depending on the trip.
How long does setup take?+
The tent opens in 1–2 minutes. The annex takes an additional 5–10 minutes to fit.
Can bedding stay inside when it's closed?+
Yes. Light bedding such as pillows and sleeping bags can usually be left inside when you pack the tent away.
What ladder is included?+
A telescopic aluminium ladder, adjustable to suit different vehicle heights and stored inside the tent when closed.
Does it come with a warranty?+
Yes. The PRO-Ruggedised tent and annex are covered by a 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
